絵画なのか滲み(にじみ)なのか。
ナカバヤシはスムースな支持体の上に、オートマティズムと素早いブラシストロークで森や川にも見える滲みのようなものを描く。

道に出ないようにと不自然にカットされた街路樹は誰もその声に耳を傾けてもらえなかった彼女に、庭園を流れる水は人から守られ暗闇を出ることのない彼に、一見すると風景画にも見える絵が生々しい人々のリアルとして表現されている。
そこに描かれたものは、鑑賞者のバックグラウンドや世の中の課題によってたえず変化し、絵画の身体を経験させ他人の痛みを想像させる装置となり得る。

私は幼い頃から日本という国で女性として生きてきて、癒しがたい肉体の苦しみを感じてきた。
その傷を癒すための作業なのか、それとも今助けを求めている人に手を差し伸べるためなのか。
どちらかだけということはないはずだ。そんな自分の世界を物質化する行為は、誰かを理解する術であり、社会との繋がりにもなっている。

Nakabayashi uses automatism and quick brush strokes on smooth supports to create a kind of blotchiness that looks like a forest or a river.
The street trees cut unnaturally to keep them out of the street make her feel as if no one was listening to her voice, the water flowing through the garden makes him feel as if he is protected from people and never leaves the darkness, and the paintings, which at first glance appear to be landscapes, are expressed as the realities of people in real life.
The paintings are constantly changing according to the viewer’s background and the issues of the world, and can become a device for experiencing the body of the painting and imagining the pain of others.
I have lived as a woman in the country of Japan since I was a child, and I have felt the pain of a body that is hard to heal.
Is this work to heal that wound or to reach out to those who need help now?
There can never be just one or the other. Such an act of making one’s world material is an art of understanding someone else and a connection to society.
