[ 田名網敬一 プロフィール ]
1936年、東京生まれ。武蔵野美術大学卒業。京都芸術大学教授。現代美術作家、映像作家。近年は国外での展覧会のオファーが続き、ニューヨーク近代美術館(MoMA)やシカゴ美術館、ベルリン美術館、香港M+など、世界の主要美術館に作品が収蔵され国際的なファインアートシーンでも評価が高まる。
2022年アートフェア「スイス・バーゼル」に、ニューヨークのガゴシアン・ギャラリーから参加し、ピカソをテーマにした作品が高い評価を得る。
2023年、田名網敬一 + 赤塚不二雄「That’s all Right!!」展（渋谷パルコミュージアム）、「PARAVENTI:」（ミラノ、プラザ財団とプラダ青山）に併せて展示するなど、現代アートからファッションまで様々なジャンルを横断し、半世紀以上にわたり日本のアートシーンを牽引する「生ける伝説」である。
[Keiichi Tanaami Profile]
Born in Tokyo in 1936. Graduated from Musashino Art University. Professor at Kyoto University of Arts. Contemporary artist and filmmaker.
His works have been collected by major museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and M+ in Hong Kong, and his reputation in the international fine art scene is also growing.
He participated in the 2022 Art Fair “Art Basel (Swiss)” from the Gagosian Gallery in New York, where his work on the theme of Picasso was highly acclaimed.
In 2023, Keiichi Tanaami + Fujio Akatsuka “That’s all Right! exhibition (Shibuya Parco Museum) and “PARAVENTI:” (Fondazione Plaza and Prada Aoyama, Milano), he is a “living legend” who has been leading the Japanese art scene for more than half a century, crossing various genres from contemporary art to fashion.

日本人アーティスト、田名網敬一の世界初となる大規模回顧展を開催いたします。本展では田名網の半世紀以上に渡る創作活動を紐解くキーワードとなる「記憶」を辿って、その作品の全貌に迫ります。新作のペインティング、立体作品、アニメーションに加え、60年代後半から70年代初めにかけて制作された貴重なグラフィックデザインやイラストレーション、80年代にかけて制作された極彩色の木彫シリーズの他、近年スタジオで発見された最初期のポップアート作品も展示されます。

We are pleased to present the world’s first large-scale retrospective exhibition of Japanese artist Keiichi Tanaami. This exhibition will trace “memory,” the key word that unravels Tanaami’s creative activities over more than half a century, to reveal the full scope of his work. In addition to new paintings, sculptures, and animations, the exhibition will also feature rare graphic designs and illustrations created in the late 60s and early 70s, a series of highly colored wood sculptures created in the 80s, and the first Pop Art works discovered in the studio in recent years. The exhibition will also include a series of rare graphic designs and illustrations from the late 1970s and early 1960s.
